Subject: Barn Owl
	Comments: Barn Owls were introduced to the Hawaiian Islands by the sugar plantations in an attempt to control rats. Unfortunately, they also prey upon native birds. This bird was perched on the fence surrounding the Kekaha landfill and was photographed from my truck window.
